SaharaReporters learnt that Ikpo, who worked as an office administrator and front desk officer at the company, was first arrested on July 6, 2024, and detained by operatives of the Force Intelligence Department (FID).

The Nigeria Police have re-arrested and detained Peace Ikpo, an Abuja-based resident and former employee of Skybet, also known as B-Sports Gaming Limited, a Chinese-owned company, over allegations that the firm operated a Ponzi scheme.

SaharaReporters learnt that Ikpo, who worked as an office administrator and front desk officer at the company, was first arrested on July 6, 2024, and detained by operatives of the Force Intelligence Department (FID).

She was subsequently granted bail on July 14, 2024.

Following her release, Ikpo reportedly complied with police directives by reporting to the FID intermittently until officers later informed her that she no longer needed to report unless contacted.

Re-Arrest After Honouring Police Invitation

However, on December 22, 2025, Ikpo was again arrested after honouring what was described as a police invitation. Contrary to her expectations, she was detained immediately upon arrival.

“Upon her release, she was reporting at the Force Intelligence Department, FID, from time to time until the Police informed her to stay back and that they would contact her whenever her attention is needed,” a source close to Ikpo’s family said.

“Surprisingly, on December 22, 2025, she was again arrested and detained by the police after she honoured police invitation.”

According to sources familiar with the case, Ikpo was informed that her former employer was under investigation for allegedly running a Ponzi scheme. She was questioned about the company’s operations and her role within it.

Ikpo reportedly told investigators that her duties were limited to administrative and front desk functions, including receiving correspondence, running errands, and relaying documents to the company’s management.

She maintained that she was neither a director nor part of the company’s decision-making structure.

“She stated all she knows about the company and her role as office admin/front desk office, which is essentially like a messenger who runs around and goes on errands or receives any correspondence for onward delivery to the Director or CEO,” the source said.

“She is not the MD, CEO or a director in the company but rather just a front desk officer.”

Detained Through Christmas and New Year

Despite her explanations, Ikpo was reportedly detained and kept in solitary confinement throughout the Christmas and New Year holidays.

A source close to her family expressed concern over her continued detention, saying, “Surprisingly, she was detained and kept in solitary confinement all through the Christmas, and New Year season.

“She honoured police invitation on December 22, 2025 and has been there till date.”
