Speaking in an exclusive interview with SaharaReporters, Chidera Precious Okafor identified herself as “the daughter of Pastor Chris Okafor, Liberation City Ministries".

A lady who claimed to be the daughter of Pastor Chris Okafor, founder of Liberation City Ministries, has given a harrowing account of alleged years of isolation, discrimination and sexual abuse while living in her father's house.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with SaharaReporters, Chidera Precious Okafor identified herself as “the daughter of Pastor Chris Okafor, Liberation City Ministries".

She explained that she moved in with her father as a child after living with her mother, noting that she had 'started to ask questions' about her situation.

According to her, the initial period appeared calm, but she later began to notice troubling patterns.

"As time went on, I started to understand what was going on," she said, adding that she was "isolated" and "discriminated."

She alleged that even in church, she was treated differently from her siblings.

"I started to see that I was isolated. I was discriminated. Even in church, he (Okafor) would call my siblings, you know, to the altar, identify with them,” she said.

“And the ushers, those other people, they wouldn't let me go up. Sometimes, most people would say, I'm not his child. And that's because that's what they got from him.

“They would say, I'm not his child. I was just brought in. I'm just staying with him and everything.

“So I started to feel it deeply. I started to feel the isolation and the discrimination. Times that he would call my siblings, they would all, you know, be together and he wouldn't involve me.”

Chidera said the exclusion extended beyond church activities, alleging she was left behind during family trips.

“Or when he planned the summer vacation for all of them, they all travelled. And I was left alone in the house with the cook," she said, adding that ushers prevented her from joining them.

"They would say, I'm not his child and that's because that's what they got from him," she said.

She alleged that the cook was the first person to sexually harass her. Recounting the incident, she said, "He came in and he closed the door. And he started holding me really tight and trying to touch me everywhere."

She said she asked him to leave her alone and later ran upstairs, adding: "I didn't have any phone. I didn't have any means to reach anybody."

According to her, when she reported the incident to her father, "He didn't fire him. He didn't do anything. He just told him not to try it again."

She further alleged that not long after, her father himself began to sexually abuse her.

Chidera said, "And not long after, that was when he started his and it all started one night. He called me to his room and everywhere was dark.

“I didn't know he was standing behind the door. As soon as I came in, he locked the door and he started trying to touch me. No, he kissed me. That was what he did first. He kissed me and he was pushing his tongue in my mouth.

“Then he took me in and was telling me how he knows that I think that he doesn't love me, but I'm the one he loves the most.

“That he wished that he could marry me and all of that. And I was quiet that day. I didn't say anything when he did all of that.

“I just left when he allowed me to go. Well, he did not have his way with me that day."

She said she did not speak to anyone about the incident at the time, explaining that she had been cut off from her mother.

"They wouldn't let us speak to our mums," she said.

Describing her emotional state, she said she was "in desperate need to be seen by him" and needed his validation. "In my head at that point in time I just felt like if this is what it's going to take... then okay," she said, adding that the abuse "kept progressing and progressing."

She recounted another incident when she approached her father after a bad dream.

"As a man of God, I went to go and meet him and I thought he was going to pray with me," she said. "He just touched me."

According to her, the incident that finally pushed her to escape was when he allegedly called her into his room again.

"He took me to his bed and he laid on top of me," she said. "All of his weight was on me."

She said she was shaking and sweating, adding that she later heard him publicly dismiss such allegations. "Yes, that's for his gullible audience but it is what it is," she said.

Chidera said she was eventually able to contact her mother and leave the house. "That was how I was able to leave the house," she said.

On Tuesday, SaharaReporters published a harrowing interview with Chidera’s mother, a 36-year-old former church member who identified herself as Ama.

She accused the flamboyant televangelist of raping her when she was a 15-year-old choir member, fathering a child he later abandoned, and years afterward sexually assaulting that same daughter, Chidera.

Ama alleges that Okafor first raped her in late 2004 at his Lagos residence. According to her, after the assault, he claimed a divine message from the Holy Spirit declared her his wife and threatened her into silence.

The attack resulted in a pregnancy, which Ama refused to terminate despite Okafor’s pressure and offers to pay for an abortion.

When her family confronted him, Okafor allegedly admitted to the rape, apologised, and promised marriage. Instead, Ama was sent to live with relatives and raised their daughter, Chidera Precious, alone with no support from Okafor. Years later, when she approached him for school fees, Ama states she was raped a second time.

Under family pressure, Ama later allowed Chidera to live with Okafor. The arrangement deteriorated, with Ama being denied access to her daughter. Chidera eventually reported neglect and, tragically, confided that her father had also sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions when she was around 14 years old.

Fearing for her daughter’s safety and emotional well-being, Ama removed Chidera from Okafor’s home. After over 20 years of silence, Ama is now speaking out, seeking to expose the pastor’s alleged actions and obtain justice.

Pastor Okafor, a popular figure on Christian television known for his "miracle" services, could not be reached personally for reaction to these allegations.

However, when contacted, Pastor Okafor's legal counsel, Ife Ajayi Esq., did not directly address the specific allegations of rape and sexual assault made by Ama and her daughter.

Instead, Ajayi revealed that Okafor had preemptively taken legal action against the survivor.

“Just so you know, we have sometime last year lodged a formal complaint against her at the Police HQ and at the Zonal command and investigation has commenced,” Ajayi told SaharaReporters. “I believe she will be summoned anytime soon and she can come over to present her evidence as required by law to the police.”

He then dismissed this exclusive report, claiming it was a malicious scheme.

“As I said above, this so-called article serves no honest journalistic purpose but simply a ploy to distract, cover up, tarnish and blackmail our client into compliance.”

Okafor’s Recent Controversies

In December 2025, Nollywood actress Doris Ogala shared a post that appeared to show Pastor Chris Okafor in a private setting.

The image, later deleted, depicted a topless man wrapped in a towel inside a bedroom. Ogala claimed the photo showed Okafor’s bedroom, alleged he had recently engaged in sexual activity, and warned she would release the full video.

Through her lawyers at Synergy Law Partners, Ogala issued a demand letter dated December 16, 2025, seeking N1 billion in aggravated damages for what her legal team described as a broken promise of marriage.

The letter, sent to Okafor’s Ojodu-Berger residence, warned of legal action if he failed to respond within 21 days.

Her legal team stated that the personal relationship began in 2017 when Ogala, emotionally vulnerable, sought pastoral guidance from Okafor.

They claimed he made repeated assurances of marriage, reinforced by conduct such as family introductions and joint appearances at family events.

Ogala allegedly relied on these promises to her detriment, ending a troubled marriage, abandoning reconciliation efforts, transferring ₦45 million to Okafor, and granting him access to her finances. Evidence cited by her lawyers includes photographs, videos, messages, and banking records.

While noting that marriage cannot be legally compelled, her lawyers argued that Nigerian law provides remedies for breach of promise and related harm.

Pastor Okafor later publicly apologized during a church service by kneeling before his congregation, admitting to “mistakes” following the allegations made by the Nollywood actress.

On Sunday, December 28, 2025, Okafor knelt before his congregation at Grace Nation Liberation City (Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries).

The cleric admitted to “past mistakes” and asked for forgiveness, both from Ogala and his congregation.

On New Year’s Day 2026, Pastor Okafor announced he was stepping aside from active pastoral leadership. This move reportedly came after intervention from senior clerics within the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), who urged him to step down to reduce tension and protect the church’s credibility.

Separately, the Lagos State Police confirmed that Pastor Okafor had been invited for questioning over allegations of multiple rapes and other serious sexual offences. The Commissioner of Police directed the State Criminal Investigation Department to conduct a thorough investigation, ensuring confidentiality and security for victims and witnesses. The police appealed for credible information to aid the inquiry and pledged a professional, transparent, and unbiased process in line with the law.
