The deceased was identified through an identity card found on her body.
A lifeless body of a woman identified as Princess Ochigo, a staff member of the High Court, has been reportedly dumped by the roadside in Nigeria’s capital city, Abuja, SaharaReporters has gathered.
The deceased was identified through an identity card found on her body.
SaharaReporters learnt that she was discovered lying motionless by the roadside under circumstances that remain unclear as of the time of filing this report.
The grim discovery comes just days after the body of an Igbo nurse was similarly found abandoned by the roadside in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), raising fresh concerns over the safety of residents and a disturbing pattern of unexplained deaths in the city.
Sources said the body of Princess Ochigo showed no immediate signs of a road accident, fuelling speculation and public anxiety over possible foul play.
However, official confirmation on the cause of death has yet to be provided by the police.
When contacted, the spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, Josephine Adeh, confirmed that the command was aware of the incident and that investigations had commenced.
“The FCT Police Command is aware of this sad incident. Discreet investigations are ongoing to unravel the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident. More information will be provided in due course as investigations progress,” Adeh said.
