A military policeman attached to 273 Tank Battalion, Jakana, Borno State, has been detained by the Nigerian Army for assaulting his junior colleague.
The soldier was seen in a video published by SaharaReporters assaulting and humiliating a colleague at a checkpoint in the state.
In the video, he resorted to physical intimidation and slapped the junior officer, later identified as Solomon Adue, several times.
According to an army source, the Corporal accused Adue of talking to his girlfriend.

“He claimed he saw him with a lady he is in a relationship with around Jankana police station earlier that day. It seems the lady is the Corporal’s girlfriend,” the source said.
“After the video went viral, they handcuffed him. His phone was taken away from him and he was initially detained by the Commanding Officer, Lt. Colonel S.A. Ajose.
“Last night, he was handcuffed and moved to the military police office in Maiduguri town for further investigations.”
