In a statement issued on Thursday evening, the anti-graft agency announced that Idowu was convicted on Thursday, February 5, 2026, by Justice Adeyemi Ajayi.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has secured the conviction of the Managing Director of Premium Samflex Integrated Limited, Felix Idowu, and his company over a N11.7 million fraud and impersonation scheme involving the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives (NANNM), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chapter.

In a statement issued on Thursday evening, the anti-graft agency announced that Idowu was convicted on Thursday, February 5, 2026, by Justice Adeyemi Ajayi.

According to the EFCC, Idowu and his firm were found guilty of “misappropriation of the sum of N11,750,000 entrusted to him by the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives FCT Chapter to settle owners of land appurtenant to Plot No 81 Giri Farmland Layout, Gwagwalada Abuja which the association had purchased.”

The commission said Idowu went beyond misappropriation, engaging in impersonation of top EFCC officials to further his fraudulent activities.

“Idowu who was prosecuted by EFCC’s Samuel Ugwuegbulam also impersonated the former Acting Chairman of the EFCC, Ibrahim Magu,” the statement said.

The EFCC added that the convict “while posing as operative of EFCC, he forged the signature of the Chairman and requested for money to get rid of a petition purportedly written against the complainant.”

The court has fixed Thursday, February 12, 2026, for sentencing.

“He will be sentenced on Thursday, February 12, 2026,” the commission stated.

The case adds to a growing list of convictions secured by the EFCC against individuals accused of exploiting institutional trust, impersonating public officials, and defrauding professional bodies under the guise of facilitating land transactions and suppressing petitions.

On Thursday, SaharaReporters also reported that a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Abuja had convicted and sentenced a former Managing Director of the Nigerian Export-Import Bank (NEXIM), Robert Orya, to a cumulative 490 years imprisonment over a N2.4 billion fraud.

The EFFC secured Orya’s conviction on Thursday, February 5, 2026, after years of prosecution over alleged financial crimes committed during his tenure as NEXIM boss between 2011 and 2016.

Justice F.E. Messiri of the FCT High Court delivered the judgment, finding Orya guilty on 49-count charges bordering on fraud and abuse of office.

The court sentenced him to 10 years imprisonment on each count, amounting to a total of 490 years behind bars.
