Nigerian singer, Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe, aka Kizz Daniel, is in another trouble with the police after he seized a laundry service’s delivery bus over an allegation that the company damaged his clothes while providing services to him in Lagos State.

Kizz Daniel had claimed that after receiving his clothes from the company, he noticed that some of them had been damaged. The musician reportedly called the laundry company's management and requested that someone come pick up some of his dirty garments.

According to The PUNCH, a driver from the company went to Kizz Daniel’s house with a bus to pick up the dirty clothes but he was detained by the singer.

Meanwhile, Kizz Daniel was arrested and detained for a few hours by the Tanzanian police in the East African country on Monday for refusing to perform at a concert after being paid.

“Kizz Daniel usually gives his clothes to a dry cleaner; so, he called the dry cleaner to visit his house to pick up some of his dirty clothes. When the dry cleaner’s driver got to his house, he (Kizz Daniel) locked him inside the compound,” a source told The PUNCH.

"He said he won’t allow them to take the vehicle because some of his clothes that the laundry company recently delivered had been damaged. Apparently, the call he made to the dry cleaner was not to pick up his dirty clothes; it was for him to seize the company’s vehicle because of the claim that the dry cleaner damaged his clothes.

“Kizz Daniel said if the laundry company does not pay him N14m, he won’t release the vehicle. The driver pleaded with him but he instructed the driver to leave his house. So, while returning to the office, the driver visited the Ilasan Police Station to make a report.

“Policemen at the station visited his house, recovered the vehicle to the station and officially wrote to him to visit the station for questioning for committing an offence bordering on illegal seizure.”

A representative of the laundry company declined to speak on the matter but confirmed to the newspaper that the issue between the singer and her company had “not yet” been resolved.

It was learnt that the police have recovered the seized vehicle for the company.

It was further learned that after retrieving the vehicle from Kizz Daniel, the police turned it over to the laundry company while the investigation into the case was ongoing.

SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the state police command, confirmed the incident and described Kizz Daniel’s actions as unlawful.

“He unlawfully seized a laundry company’s vehicle. The police went there, recovered the vehicle and invited him over to make a statement as to what happened. We are still expecting him but his lawyer said he would come on Tuesday.

“It is criminal to seize people’s property against their will and the proper thing is prosecution. Nobody should take the law into their hands by seizing anybody’s property. If you are aggrieved or somebody has offended you, seek appropriate redress.

“If it is a criminal matter, go to the police; if it is a civil matter, you can sue the person or seek alternative dispute resolution instead of taking laws into your hands. It could lead to a breakdown of law and order."

Following his arrest in Tanzania on Monday, SaharaReporters reported that the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) via its Twitter handle, later revealed that the singer had been released.

"His legal team will however report back to the police tomorrow while he will subsequently return to Nigeria," the commission had said.

Kizz Daniel was earlier arrested in the East African country and held at the Oyster Bay Police Station in Dar es Salaam after failing to show up for a paid performance there.

As part of his Afro Classic World Tour, the Buga crooner was slated to perform at the Warehouse, Old Nextdoor Arena in Tanzania on Sunday night.

Following his failure to show up, a video of angry fans trashing the show’s venue had trended earlier.

In videos that later surfaced online, the singer wearing a hooded jacket was seen being led into a police vehicle.

An angry voice could be heard saying, “You will go in for it. You’ve caused damage in this country. I warned you yesterday.”
