Gunmen Throw Kidnap Victims Off Bridge To Concrete Base In Anambra

Sources said the victims were abducted along Nnobi—Nnewi Road and were taken to Alor where they were thrown off bridge. 

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have reportedly thrown off two of their victims from the top of bridge the cemented base of a drainage channel in Anambra state. 

The incident happened in Alor in the Idemili South Local Government Area of the state over the weekend, according to Daily Sun. 

Sources said the victims were abducted along Nnobi—Nnewi Road and were taken to Alor where they were thrown off bridge. 

This was corroborated by a video from the scene currently trending on social media, showing one of the abductees lamenting and narrating his experience, while being interviewed by some men of Alor local security outfit known as Tiger Squad. 

In the video of the incident seen by SaharaReporters on Monday, the victim who introduced himself as Benjamin Okafor, aka Man Petrol, was seen reeling in pain on the ground. 

According to him, he was driving hometown, Amichi, in Nnewi South Local Government Area, with one other person, in Toyota Camry car when the hoodlums double-crossed his vehicle and whisked him away. The incident happened around 9pm, he said.  

The victim while lamenting, said the criminals after driving some distance, threw him off a bridge about 20 feet high. 

The video also shows a second victim lying lifeless on the ground. 

The spokesperson for the state police command, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, who confirmed the incident, said one of the victims who survived the ordeal had been taken to the hospital. 

He, however, added that a second victim who did not make it had been taken to the morgue. 

 had been rescued, and the body of the deceased deposited in a mortuary. 

“He is currently receiving treatment in the hospital. He was later identified and united with the family members. Meanwhile the second victim has been taken to the morgue and investigation has since commenced,” he said.
