Nigerian Army Rescues Another Chibok Schoolgirl With 4-Year-Old Child, Three Others

Troops of Sector One, Operation Hadin Kai, have rescued another Chibok schoolgirl in the Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.

Boko Haram terrorists in April 2014 kidnapped 276 female students mostly Christians aged from 16 to 18 from Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok in Borno State.

Grema was number 11 on the list of the abducted Chibok students still in captivity as of 2021.

In a statement on Saturday on its Facebook page, the Nigerian Army said the victim and her child, were rescued by troops of 21 Special Armoured Brigade, Sector 1, Operation Hadin Kai at Bama LGA, Borno.

According to the statement, three other girls — Mwanret Daspan (29), Claris Fidel (22), a national of Chad, and Hauwa (12) — were rescued by troops of 242 battalion, Sector 3, Operation Hadin Kai, at Mongonu LGA of Borno State.

Salamatu Yahaya, President of the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA), donated relief materials and financial support to the rescued girls at the Maimalari Military Cantonment, Maiduguri.

She commended the troops for their efforts and said the rescued persons will be supported by the military and the Borno government to reunite them with their families.

Over 100 girls have so far been rescued in the last seven years.
