The fertilizer discovery means there are likely plans to manufacture IEDs.

The Kaduna State Government has said that troops of the Nigerian Army have recovered batteries and 27 fertiliser bags used by terrorists to manufacture Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) in the state.

The State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, disclosed this in a statement issued on Thursday.

According to Aruwan, the fertiliser bags were discovered when the troops of Operation Forest Sanity raided a camp of a bandit identified as Lawal Kwalba in Rafin Dawa in the Chikun Local Government Area of the state.

Aruwan said the fertilizer discovery means there are likely plans to manufacture IEDs, considering the bandits’ relationship with terrorists.

Aruwan said the bandits took to their heels before the troops arrived at the camp, but added that the soldiers were able to arrest some distance from the camp, who would be profiled and investigated.

He noted that a motorcycle and two mobile phones were recovered by the soldiers.

SaharaReporters earlier reported that President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday ordered the military to flush out terrorists from their hideouts and eliminate them.
