The #RevolutionNow convener, while decrying the current state of Nigerian economy, said that the cause of poverty and hardship in Nigeria was not as a result of inadequate revenue generation.

The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has said that the former Nigerian Accountant-General, Ahmed Idris, suspended for corruption could soon be rewarded with an Ambassadorial position after stealing N150billion.

Sowore made the assertion on Thursday while speaking during an interview with Pastor Ituah Ighodalo on the topic, "The Nigeria We See."

The #RevolutionNow convener, while decrying the current state of Nigerian economy, said that the cause of poverty and hardship in Nigeria was not as a result of inadequate revenue generation but corruption and mismanagement of the revenue.

According to the presidential candidate, there is no task given to people who don't understand simple things that they will not label as complex, adding that leaders should be queried for claiming Nigeria is complex.

Sowore said, “How is it that it is the same Nigeria that is complex to complete a 120-kilometre highway that it is not too complex to steal from?”

He noted that in complex countries like the United States of America, people find it difficult to steal "But here, whether they have brains or not, they will be able to steal. The Accountant-General just walked away with N150 billion, spent a few days in jail and went back home. I heard he just got married and I'm very sure that very soon, political parties will be begging him to come and become their candidate for the next gubernatorial election in the state.

"I want to guarantee you that he might become an ambassador to Nigeria in charge of several countries. He will get the front seat anywhere he goes - churches, mosques but the former Prime Minister of Malaysia went to jail last week and his wife was also sent to jail this week.

"How much did they steal, probably not as much as our Accountant General stole."
