Terrorists Kidnap Wife Of Senator Baba-Kaita’s Younger Brother, 2 Children In President Buhari’s Home State, Katsina

Katsina

The terrorists kidnapped the wife of the lawmaker’s brother and two other children.

A younger brother of Senator Ahmed Baba-Kaita, who represents Katsina North Senatorial Zone, was attacked in the Kankia area of Katsina State on Sunday night by suspected terrorists.

The terrorists kidnapped the wife of the lawmaker’s brother and two other children.

The abducted housewife's name, according to AIT, is Jamila.

The terrorists forced their way into the Senator's younger brother's home, but his wife refused to open the door as ordered.

The terrorists then fired gunshots at the door before breaking in.

At the time of filing this report, the police had yet to confirm the incident.

Katsina is the home state of President Muhammadu Buhari but it is one of the most terrorised states in the country, a testament to the failure of Buhari to tackle corruption as he promised during electioneering ahead of the 2015 presidential election.

SaharaReporters had earlier reported that suspected terrorists also attacked Funtua town in Kastina State early on Sunday, killing one man and kidnapping at least 10 others.

According to a resident of the town who spoke to SaharaReporters on Monday, the terrorists killed Dahiru because he tried to resist when they wanted to abduct him.

But when SaharaReporters contacted the state police command to find out if the police were aware of the attack and what they were doing about it, the command's spokesman, SP Gambo Isah, said he had not received any report about an attack in Funtua.

He did, however, reveal that on Saturday, August 6, the police, acting on reliable information, attacked a terrorist stronghold in Unguwar Dako and freed six hostages.

"We stormed the terrorists' hideout and rescued the victims. But we did not kill or arrest any of the bandits," Isah said.

Isah identified some of the rescued victims as Alhaji Garba DanMallam, 52, Rabiu Idris, 45, and Abba Samaila, 38, all of whom live in Unguwar Nuhu.

The others are Yunusa Sani, 54, Ishaq Yakub, 40, and Danjuma Samaila, 45, who are from Layin Sani village in Kafur.
