Bandits on Thursday collected a ransom of N1.5 million and shot dead the kidnapped victim in Adamawa State, Saharareporters has learnt.

It was gathered that the victim, Abdulmalik Bukar, 32, a fresh graduate had visited the family of one Abdulrahman to solicit a job placement into the state civil service when he was kidnapped by the terrorists, the night he arrived there.

A family member, one Samaila Numun in an emotion-laden voice narrated how it happened to SaharaReporters.

He said, "Abdulamalik left his house to seek employment only for him to be kidnapped and killed after three days in captivity.

"They had demanded N20 million ransom and we later agreed for N1.5 after they realised he was not their original target.

"We took the money to them around 6:00 pm at a location around the Modire area on the outskirts of Yola, the capital of the state.

"After they collected and confirmed everything, they released him to us; surprisingly when we climbed motorcycles to go, they opened fire on him, shot him in the back and he bled to death.”
