Tinubu’s Nursery Rhymes On International Youth Day: Daring The Public Venom, By Kunle Wizeman Ajayi

They don't care about ASUU strike, neither do they care about the problems of unemployment, issues like police brutality and such other burning collective ïnterests.

Those who wrote Bola Tinubu's "Naija Youths No Dey Carry Last" speech at the International Youth Day are of retarded thinking, smartless and insensitive. They fumbled by not addressing the general plights and challenges that bereaves the youths. They wrote some kind of nursery rhymes thinking it's sonorous poetry.

They don't care about ASUU strike, neither do they care about the problems of unemployment, issues like police brutality and such other burning collective ïnterests. Instead, they go back to the Abacha style of praising just about ten of over 100 million youths who are successful in their endeavours like Tobi Amusa; Ese Brume; and others. These are very few youths who on their own strived to find light at the end of the dark tunnel of bad and irresponsible governance that we all pass through. Same Tinubu, who has eroded all the old Game Centres built all around the communities in Lagos by the Jakande UPN government of 1979-83, now pipers the boring praises of world class athletes. They sow the wind, and want to reap cassava. No be juju be that?!

Tinubu's hegemony and their puppet governor s have done all they could to kill real sports in Lagos since 1999. A good instance is the popular Ile-Pako Mini-stadium at Agege which is one of the very last of community games centres in the Local Government, is being forcefully taken out now by government agents. What this means is that most of those who train for different sports at the mini-stadium are being jeopardized. I am also aware that there are attempts to sell off Evans Square at Ebutte Meta too. Lagos State government till date does not have any soccer team in the Nigerian Premier league!

Meanwhile, the cause of why most of the youths are living from hand to mouth and are in pains and anguish are the rogue policies of privatisation; deregulation; Public Private Partnership (PPP) that are wickedly implemented forcefully as part of implementing the neo-liberal economic policies of World Bank, which means simply says: take the developments away from the millions, and give all the wealth to a few billionaires in politics and business.

But those who the gods would kill, they make deaf, blind, and insane. How could a purveyor of #LekkiMassacre ever address youths without showing remorse? There was not even a modest appreciation of the youth angst and general vexations over the very high cost but so lowered standard of living. That arrogance would show it's consequences even before the polls!

Many of youths are angry today about the way the EndSARS was forcibly halted by the government agents. Let's understand that we were actually fighting to end the government at all levels. And they saw same as that, no matter our slogans. The military and police is why our oppressors have the effontery to keep oppressing us; they protect their interests of institutional oppressions. So, when you asked to EndSARS, it's like asking Politicians to end thuggery!

It is sure that they drowned the #EndSARS in blood so consciously! We must rise to smash their system of greed and power by standing up for total liberation and revolutionary alternatives like Omoyele Sowore, who is the only anti-establishment candidate in the #2023Elections!
