We the above named body are organizing a 2,000,000 man march against all the injustices and corruption in Rivers state by the Rivers state governor Dr. Peter Otunaya Odili.

This 2,000,000 man march is scheduled as follows:

Date:               6th February 2007

Venue:            Obi-Wali Integrated Cultural Centre (Assembly Point)

Time:              9am prompt.

We will march straight to the government house from our assembly point and demand for the following:

  • After all the billions allocated to the state what is ground to justify allocations.
  • What about the so-called publicized Gas Turbine that we have been promised of since the year 2000. Where is the light not the commissioned premises.
  • What about our safety in this state.
  • What has happened to all the foreign investors this government met here.
  • Why is there so much insecurity in this state.

This is the time to fight this monster Odili to jail.

  • Let us rise up now or forever suffer it.
  • Since he thinks he cannot be impeached we will disgrace him out of office.
  • It is a thing of joy that rivers people are now willing for this fight.
  • The federal government has played their own part by refusing him ticket, it is our turn to finish the fight.
  • Kidnapping is becoming a daily thing now in Rivers state, they now kidnap Rivers residence (blacks) now and demand for ransom. Since all the foreigners have almost left the state.
  • If we don’t do it now them it will be business as usual in the next government he intends to plant. Since they said they will build his (Odili’s) legacies. They said they are scared of his achievements and wonder if they can achieve more than him.
  • What will be the hope of the Niger Delta region and of course the Nigerian state if this man is left untouched.
  • There are no roads, no light, no security, no water scheme, schools are dilapidated, except the ones renovated by NDDC or the oil companies in Port Harcourt, talk less of other local areas.
  • Should we keep quite and let this to continue? We say no.
  • We have been sending text messages to everybody we know in the state and in Nigeria at large and you can imagine the responses, people are not happy about this Rivers government because they are frustrating the efforts of the federal government. Everybody is ready to fight now and save the future for our children and indeed the Nigerian state.

JOIN THIS PEACEFUL PROTEST

JOIN THE 2,000,000 MAN MARCH AGAINST CORRUPTION IN RIVERS STATE

ON THE 6TH OF FEBRUARY 2007.

9AM PROMPT.

We are also going to put in paid adverts in the local, national and international dailies because this problem of kidnappings and under development affects all of us and it is caused by corruption, especially the Rivers story of neglect.
