Terry Waya convicted for money laundering in the UK.

 

UK-based Nigerian socialite, Terry Waya has been convicted by a British court for money laundering. He is due to be sentenced on August 7th 2007.

A police source in London told Saharareporters that Terry Waya was also fined £145,000 after being found guilty by a jury for money laundering.

 Terry Waya was the Benue State born; socialite businessman whose 2001 birthday bash was attended by majority of Nigerian state governors. He was a close associate of ex-governor DSP Alamieyeseigha and reportedly posted bail on his behalf before the former Bayelsa State governor bolted from the UK.

Terry was arrested in late 2005 and his trial commenced mid -2006 until he was found guilty by the UK court.
