Before Okiro retires-how did he acquire these businesses and properties in Abuja?

April 8, 2009

Image removed.I am yet to see any Police Chief in recent Nigeria that remained unblemished before retirement.

One would not know whether it will be until a bloody revolution takes place would Nigeria be free from or be near-free corruption status. In Nigeria issues relating to corruption resonate as fierce fire and quickly settle out unresolved.  I know it would be nice to remind us of the cases involving former IGPs Tafa Balogun, Ehindero and now Mike Okiro. These were (is) the men that investigating corruption was (is) placed on their shoulders. I cry for my nation, Nigeria.

With the news making round that Okiro is scheduled to retire by the end of next month, let the public ask him to give account of his stewardship for us to see if he would be different from some of his predecessors. Let him tell us what he knows about the ownership of Yvonne Hotel and Casino located in Lugbe Abuja; what he knows about the ownership of the massive private school enterprise known as “Lugbe International Academy” that offers primary and secondary school education; what he knows about Bharmoss Ventures Nigeria Limited that is in serious business with government agencies. He should volunteer more information than what one would not want to reveal here.

There is vacancy for a corrupt-free Police Officer capable of becoming IG of Police; a man who would serve this nation without fear or favour, with honesty and sincerity? Let such a man be fished out and let the revolution start. We do not need revolution that would be bloody because it is avoidable and should be taken as a last resort.
