A Rejoinder: Joshua Ocheja, Saharareporters, Yar´Dua And "The Gyges Ring"

May 25, 2009

Joshua Ocheja must be feeling himself like the real McCoy as per the churn of rejoinders chasing his article. Not even Tupack Shakur and Notorious B.I.G put together were this famous as societal mismatch. Ibrahim Babagida once christened himself the 'evil genius,' Tupack was self-acclaimed 'Outlaw'. Mr. Ocheja is nothing short of a derailed runaway train and an outlaw. I use the exact same label to describe his 'lord and personal saviour' by the name of president Yar´Dua. Outlaw!

Mr. Ocheja hyped so much how he’d have sent fire and sulphur to consume Saharareporters and those moving and shaking it, were he to be the president so denigrated and defamed by SR in the Yar´Dua scorecard episode that has continue to clone itself unending. Joshua should be thankful to modesty that he’s not cut out to be president. With the crystal ball in my hands, I can see clear-cut that were Ocheja to be president: he’d have committed suicide like Adolf Hitler, hidden in hole like Saddam Hussein only to be smoked out from the hole and hanged by the neck, running away from his presidential mess like Benito Mussolini of Italy he’d have landed in the hands of foreign immigration workers who’d have demised him like the French border guards captured and killed Mussolini like a common criminal.

Joshua should fast a pray ardently that grave woe does not betides his master like some of the paranoid and dictatorial ones I’ve just named above. Unless Yar´Dua do amends from his deceptive Frankenstein wheeling and dealing - Sahara reporter’s report card of him would be a cakewalk in comparism to what will befall him in the end. In my mind’s eye, SR has been so generous with their scorecard. I’d have rated him far worse than that. The Ocheja bunches are pliable enough not to discern good from bad or maybe it’s their greed or need situations that egg them on.

Fantasist like Joshua who’re bedfellowing and cheering up our corrupt leaders as against mass opinion are angered solid because SR is hankering so hard to bringing Yar´Dua and cohorts down from their high horses. More so, Saharareporters has discovered the magic Ring of Gyges used by Yar´Dua and authority people in Nigeria to do evil undetected.

The Location was in Greece, the Setting was in Socrates classroom in the-then Plato´s republic and the topic of the day was 'The Gyges Ring.'  A student of Socrates named Glaucon, told a story of a shepherd named Gyges who by happenstance came upon a secret cavern with a corpse inside that wore a ring. When Gyges put on the ring, he found out that he become invisible. Gyges cashed in on the magic ring and started doing terrible and woeful things like seducing the queen, murdering the king and suchlike. Glaucon´s story posed a moral question and thus: could any resist the temptation of evil if he knows his act couldn’t be detected?

Where the hammer head lays in this buzzing matter as could be seen by the blazing Ocheja, is that, Saharareporters has detected Yar´Dua using the Gyges Ring secretly to pain and hurt Nigerians while getting away with it, and SR has sworn to exposing him before public glare. If I’ve my Gyges Ring, I’d send fire and brimstone plus tsunami to consume those in Aso Rock plus its bunched up cohorts of authority playboys and playgirls in Abuja who have been masturbating Nigerians to satisfy their personal self-greed, while still, raping and fucking the backward-bended and complacent Nigerians sadomasochist-style from behind. It agitates me to imagine what reasonable Nigerians would do with their Gyges Ring. What would you do if you have the Gyges Ring in your hands with the potency to do what ever without being detected or punished?

Not every one with the Gyges Ring would proceed to do evil, if one wishes to approach the moral questioned posed by Gyges Ring.

Abraham Lincoln, the onetime U.S. president as a young lawyer, was ridding on his bike looking for work and all of a sudden, he came upon a pig bogged down in a marshy mud that it couldn’t free itself. Lincoln thought of going to free the pig from the trap but he didn’t want to spoil his expensive law garment and thus he rode on homeward. After biking for miles en route home, his conscience started pricking him dead solid for not freeing the pig from muddy trap that bogged it down. He couldn’t take it any longer, so, he rode back, got inside the mud to the detriment of his expensive law dress and hauled pig out of the trap. Afterwards, he was joyous for freeing his conscience and the pig at the same time.

Has Yar´Dua conscience judging by plenty elections he has rigged for self and PDP gang members plus more missteps and hypocrisies? National Assembly members who collect pork barrel, earmarks or constituency funds aimed at upping and taking care of their citizens and then keep money for their self-gain, do they’ve conscience? What about governors who loot their peoples´ money organising sweet dilly-dallies of birthdays from Abuja to South Africa, do they’ve conscience? If a pig can be so becoming of dignity from Abraham Lincoln, how much more human Nigerians!

Saharareporters has come to stay and will continue to wax stronger like the rock of Gibraltar. While enemies of SR will keep falling down, SR will keep rising up. Saharareporters will progress along the line of Ted Turner’s success story in this profession of doling out incorruptible news. Ted went from billboard, to radio, TV and CNN as his once core. SR will rule both print and electronic media with the passing away of time. Let me hear you say, Amen!

I’ll not die for Yar`Dua´s Nigeria lest I die in vain. I’d get out of my comfort zone and put my life on the line to rescue Buhari, Gani and Ebitu Ukiwe´s Nigeria to the best of my ability .

Joshua Ocheja should realise that Yar´Dua is a public servant. Bashing and lampooning is all-inclusive and supposing he can’t take it any longer, resignation is always an option. And more so, Yar´Dua is not the father of Nigeria, DNA will attest to that. He’s president via corrupt election isn’t like we all kowtowed to beg him to lead us, finito.
