When P.M.NEWS visited her residence this morning, it was deserted. Only the security guard, simply called John, attended to our reporters.
According to him, one of her children called in very late last night and gave instructions that nobody should be allowed into the residence. Other residents, who spoke with P.M.NEWS this morning, were also unaware of the incident.
Chief Adelanwa, a neighbour and friend of the deceased’s, told P.M.NEWS that it had been a while since he saw her.
“This is because the late Moji Obasanjo did not relate much with the people in the Estate, except her party faithful,” Adelanwa said.
Confirming her death to P.M.NEWS, one of her daughters, Mrs. Abosawa, who spoke through a party faithful, said she died last night, after a brief illness.
He added that members of the family of the deceased’s were still meeting over her burial arrangements, adding that they do not want journalists to be aware of the death for now.
He confirmed that her corpse has been deposited at a private mortuary in Lagos.
P.M.NEWS’ findings further revealed that the late Moji Obasanjo had been battling an undisclosed ailment for over two months.
The retired Major of the Nigeria Army, Mojisola Obasanjo, was the first woman in the country to contest for the presidential position on the platform of the Masses Movement of Nigeria (MMN). She was defeated both in the 2003 and 2007 presidential elections, thus marking the end of her aspiration to the topmost office in the country as seen by her fans and loyalists. Major Mojisola was married to Obasanjo for seven years.
