2011- 15 months To Go! Can we take back our Country?

March 3, 2010
Does Ogbuloafor reek of stupidity and infamy? This man ran to a 3rd world country to receive heart treatment, while he presided over the largest party in Africa. If they were so efficient and effective at governance why are the hospitals of the largest party Nation not suitable for their president? Their government is the largest failure ever in Africa. The Great people of the Eastern Nigeria deserve better representation than that pressed nose masquerade face. He once said the PDP will rule Nigeria for 50years. He is in a life time throne-of stealing. For him to say that the North will still have the presidency come 2011 confirms the old plague of Acquired sycophancy syndrome which still afflicts and will continue to afflict more politicians in Nigeria. The established mentality told Ekweme, M.K.O the same.
Ogbuloafor's stench reeks of power intoxicant; I hope his heart troubles allow him to see the next 50 years of PDP reign, an idea he religiously entertains.
Yet there is some truth in what he is saying, the intentions have been well planned and he is just playing his role as handed out to him in the new script.

Let us change the tempo of this forum and bring out more ideas that can sabotage and overthrow the perverse and evil beliefs of the inept political class!
2011 is too close to call! Its time to for all to wake up and claim the victory, respect, pride and honour of the black race. Why are all the places where black people live not happy places?  From Zimbabwe, Haiti, inner American cities, the slumps of Nairobi, to south Africa and Nigeria; with Alma Jeri in the North, different shades of impoverished beggars in the South. Prostitutes in the street of Lagos, the endless killing of people by armed bandits, exploited orphans and workers, sexual harassment in Universities, can be attributed to the unending psyche of complicity that ‘it may never be in our life time’.

Yet we are a nation of many Churches and Mosques. I have argued that if being good and believing is what will make us go to Heaven, the more people are religious then the closer is our world to the perfections in Heaven. Many more religious houses yet the problems are still there!

Late Chief Gani Fawehinmi screamed his lungs out tirelessly urging politicians to resolve the constitution written by 17 men of AFRC before going to bed with Power. Instead all jumped on the Power Wagon! Chief Bola Ige after the Obansanjo romance was killed in Ignominy! There is no end to news of blatant power excesses, corruption and looting. What we are short of now is the very ideas and actions that can make us overcome the unending spectacle of the Black man’s world. It took 400years for the same slave merchants to abolish slavery. Will it take us another 400years to liberate ourselves from our kinship form of slavery!

Now we are less than 15 months from the next Government. The PDP chairman has told us it will be for the North. Obviously Yar’ adua may not make it again, but they will keep him whilst they perfect the next imposition. They can never bring about electoral reform! If it so happens that it will be with the North as PDP thinks, that likely imposed man will be fit and will want to stay another 8 years. Unless He is a true leader from that region of Nigeria, we can be sure we’ll wake up on the morning of 2011 inauguration to be confronted by a ‘paddy paddy’ president that will further enshrine the corruption. They have never changed in the last 50years and you can bet that they will not change in the years to come.

So where do we go from here? We always clamour for change that we are not prepared to claim. Those who fought the Military to a standstill never had a stake in the new democratic dispensation. Why? We scream, while they work real hard to hold on to power, they are always a step ahead even when they are side stepping. The forlorn fear of engagement to free the country by educated and ‘know it’ Nigerians remains the biggest obstacles to true democracy!

We can start now, from this forum to identify each and every problem that bars true leadership from emerging in our country through threads of comments and constructive ideas. By asking more challenging questions and developing action plans to answer them.
Can we appeal to the opposition to be more engaging, or we form a new political movement that will truly deliver? Shouting and talking from our comfort zones alone cannot translate to meaningful change. There are equally more vocal press at home like this forum, long existing from the Military Era, yet the impact has been insignificant.

I want to use this opportunity to call on readers of Sahara Reporters to ask the forum to dedicate a section for the development of action plans, which we can call any name but with one focused intention of winning back Nigeria in 2011! The effort need not be too big an engagement.

MEND of Niger Delta can form a political party that can win elections and produce representatives that will keep its hope alive within the context of Nigeria rather than remain in the creeks fighting alone and letting selfish PDP politicians represent them. Let their struggle continue but they need to purge their leaders, let the so-called born again Christians of Nigeria bring their righteous brethren to politics and stand for good causes. Let the Northern and Southern Moslem Brothers grab the core of Islamic values against evil and call their people to reason for a better society as against blind empty followership. Let us win the police who are bigger victims to our side.
There is only one common thing that unites all Nigerians today, it is bigger than any sectional, religious, tribal or self interest-POVERTY IN THE LAND, if you don’t live in Nigeria to see it or feel it, it is exactly why you are abroad and dare not go and live in Nigeria.

Even UMYA ended his 2007 inaugural speech saying that ‘the time is NOW!’
