Signatories To The Petition Demanding The Immediate Resignation Of Justice Katsina-Alu

Exactly two Weeks ago I coordinated an online petition asking the Chief Judge of Nigeria, Justice Aloysius Katsina-Alu to resign his position as the Chief judge of Nigeria, with respect to the very serious  accusation of misconduct leveled against him by Justice Ayo Salami.

The petition was today closed, but let the debate, pressure and discussion remain open. The names of honorable Nigerians who signed up the petition were downloaded and published as in the link below.

I am deeply humbled, glad and grateful to many Nigerians who responded to that petition and signed up in support. It gladdens me more when I looked at the spread of those of that signed the petition; they are Nigerians from various background, ethnicity, tribe, religion, profession. It clearly shows that in the majority are Nigerians who crave for the common good that creates an egalitarian society where our differences pale compared to our commonality that brings us together and makes us one people in one nation with common problem and challenges that which needs urgent attention.

Please click this List of signatories demanding the resignation of Justice Katsina-Alu  or click on www.resignaloysiuskastinaalu.com to see those patriotic Nigerians who have responded for the clarion call and come out forcefully to ask for the immediate resignation of the CJN in the interest of the ordinary Nigerians, the Judiciary and the common good. Your voice is heard loud and clear. You will be informed as we progress in our collective fight against injustice, corruption and entrenched personal interest especially in the hallowed chamber of a supposedly “the last hope of the common man/woman”. Together with your support we will take the fight against corruption and brigandage for the Nigerian people to any institution and individuals that negates the terms and rules of their engagement, responsibility and duty. No national institution no matter how insignificant or small should be out of sight to be challenged when the operators of those institutions shove their responsibility and subvert the peoples will and mandate.

To the patriotic Nigerians whose names are listed in the link above, who went out of their way to sign this petition my sincere thanks to you all for responding to the common good—to those who did not sign but made and contributed meaningful ideas to the debate thank you and to those who are opponents and those that just call names, but refuse to discuss and debate their points, thank you too, because we are all Nigerians.

I have dispatched a copy of the petition with the signatories to the Chief Judge of Nigeria, Justice Aloysius Katsina-Alu and copied the following: President of Nigeria, Dr Goodluck Jonathan , Senate President, Senator David Mark, Speaker House of Representative, Hon Dimeji Bankole, Transform-Nigeria, President of the Nigerian Bar Association –Joseph Daudu, Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Barrister Mohammed Bello Adoke, Nigeria judicial Council, Campaign for Democracy,  Committee for the Defense of Human Rights, Civil Liberties Organization, Constitutional Rights Project, Transition Monitoring Group.

Let us at all times stand with the people of Nigeria who have continued to be at the receiving end of corrupt, deceitful and inept leadership and supervision. Gradually the weighty accusations of corruption and misconduct in the judiciary is been swept under the table, it is our duty to continue to discuss and debate it, pile pressure on all those involved to do the right thing to  go now and show that we don’t have the stomach to accommodate it anymore.  We must keep this national malaise in the front burner as a national issue until those that need to go do go. Those who are supposedly in position to take up the fight against corruption in the Judiciary and speak up have un-surprisingly remained silent in the face of these serious allegations.

God bless the main street Nigerians who have continued to receive the short end of the stick from their political leaders--the freedom from shackles of poverty and fear will surely come.
