Yar'adua's In-Law Loses: Tribunal Nullifies Election Of Kebbi State Governor, Dakingari

An election tribunal sitting in Kebbi state has just nullified Kebbi  the election of Saidu Usman Dakingari the Kebbi state governor and candidate of the Peoples' Democratic Party, (PDP) during the April 2011 gubernatorial election in the state.

Dakingari is late president Umaru Yar'Adua's son-in-law his third wife is Yar'Adua's second eldest daughter, Zainab.  The tribunal has ordered a rerun election in the state.
 Kola Awodeyin (SAN) who led the legal team of the opposition confirmed to SaharaReporters that his team won the case again the governor convincingly.

The tribunal chairman,  Justice Mairo M Mohammed J. C.A leading three others ruled that the election of Alhaji Dakingari has been nullified on the ground that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)  did not provide the statutory Distribution Forms for the election.  Accordingly, the tribunal made an order for fresh elections in 90-days.
