Australia has qualified for the FIFA 2014World Cup, which will hold in Brazil.

Australia played Iraq this afternoon and recorded a 1-0 victory. The lone goal was scored by Australian forward Josh Kenedy who scored the late goal via a header at the 83rd minute of the second half of the game, so far in the World Cup qualifier Australia have gathered 13 point altogether ahead of Oman with just 9 points.

The Captain of the Australian team, Lucas Neill said after the high tempo match: "I'm proud of everybody, it has been a really hard campaign, but we showed our mental strength, we've got to keep pushing ourselves, we're going to Brazil!"

Japan was the first national team to qualify for the 2014 FIFA World Cup, several countries are still in the  qualifying stage.
