Ayo Oke Appointed DG Of National Intelligence Agency

President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the appointment of Ambassador Ayo Oke as the new Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), a State House press statement said today.

The President Jonathan also approved the appointments of Mr. E.O. Okafor (Anambra State) as Deputy Director-General (Operations), and Mr. Arap A. Yadam (Plateau State) as Deputy Director-General (Administration) of the NIA.
Ambassador Oke, who hails from Oyo State, takes over from Ambassador Ezekiel Olaniyi Oladeji, whose tenure has elapsed.

Ambassador Oke is a career diplomat who was formerly at the Commonwealth Secretariat in London. Until his appointment as Director-General, he was the Director (Regions) at the Headquarters of the NIA.

All the appointments are with immediate effect.
