The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Mr. MD Abubakar, has redeployed five Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs), and two Commissioners of Police (CPs), to various zonal and state commands and formations.

A statement today by police spokesman Frank Mba said the move was aimed at building a people-friendly Police Force, through effective and efficient service delivery.
The redeployments include the former CP Anambra State, AIG Ballah M. Nasarawa who was recently promoted Assistant Inspector-General of Police, who will now serve as the AIG in charge of Zone 9, Umuahia. That zone covers Abia, Imo, Enugu and Anambra State Commands.
Similarly, CP Usman Gwary, now takes charge of the Anambra State Police Command.
