Bauchi and his entourage were returning from Murtala Square, before the attack around Alkali Road in the heart of Kaduna GRA.
The suicide bomber was said to having been biking with some accomplices. In the explosion, some pedestrians were killed while many others were injured.
One hour after the attempted attack on Sheik Bauchi, the second bomb explosion occurred in busy Kawo garage axis which connects travelers from Kaduna to Zaria, Kano, Abuja and the rest of the country.
Information on General Buhari is still sketchy, but he was said to have been on the busy road and would have been affected but for sheer luck.
