Nigerian Military Claims Repatriated Soldiers On Their Way To Another Mission To Combat Boko Haram

The Nigerian military yesterday alleged that the mass desertion during a fight in the town of Gamboru-Ngala, on the Cameroonian-Nigerian border, was in fact a "tactical manuever".

The Nigerian military, in a statement today, claimed that the absconding 480 Nigerian soldiers who fled to Cameroon during a clash with Boko Haram have returned, and will be sent on another another counter-insurgency mission.[story_link align="left"]34685[/story_link]

SaharaReporters gathered yesterday that the soldiers have met with their superiors and were actually in good spirits, returning with their weapons and equipment all intact.

The Defence Headquarters has confirmed that troops who returned from Cameroon were today addressed by the General Officer Commanding 3 Division, Major General Zaruwa as they embark on another mission in the Counter Terrorism campaign.

All the soldiers are in high spirit with all their weapons and equipment intact.
