The source added that Sports Minister Dr. Tammy Danagogo is to be blamed for the predicament that the country’s football finds itself in.

“Everyone knows that the only thing that unites us in this country is football and in these times of security challenges instead of us to use it to bring our people together, we are trying to destroy it altogether,” he said.

On the impending FIFA action, our source said ”We are still waiting to receive a letter from Jerome Valcke, who as the General Secretary is in charge of correspondence between us and FIFA; but we are still waiting to know their decision” he concluded.

The world soccer ruling body, FIFA, last week ordered the newly elected President of Nigeria Football Federation, Chris Giwa, to vacate office latest by midnight, Monday, September 1, 2014.

In a letter addressed to NFF General Secretary, Musa Amadu, and dated August 29, FIFA noted that from the report it received, the election that produced Mr. Chris Giwa is not acceptable.

The body also warned of the consequence should Giwa continue to lay claim to the NFF Presidency, saying the secretariat would not hesitate to refer Nigeria’s case to the appropriate FIFA committee for
sanction.
