“This is to inform you that troops of 7 Division Nigerian Army have recaptured Chibok town in Borno State from Boko Haram terrorists since yesterday," Col. Usman stated in his release

"The military is still carrying out mopping up operations in the surrounding environment. Chibok town is now fully secured."

“You are please requested to disseminate this to the public through your medium. Thank you.”

A youth representative from Chibok, Alln Manasseh, told SaharaReporters that they could not confirm the statement of the military because there hasn't been any communication with those trapped in the township. Another source in Maiduguri claimed the liberation of Chibok was carried out by civilian vigilantes.
