PDP May Lose 2015 Elections In Niger State By Abdullahi S. Marafa

November 22, 2014

The seven and half years administration of Dr Muazu Babangida Aliyu has done a lot of harm to the robust politics Niger state People Democratic Party {PDP} is known for; it is now clear to all PDP members that the party may loose in 2015.

The party may lose because the Chief servant has allowed his selfish agenda and interest to becloud his sense of Justice and fairness, which will in turn affect the internal democracy within the party.

Our Chief Servant always pay lip service to supremacy of the party, and go behind the door to undermine the organs of the party and the members of the party who have being contributing to the growth of the party that he has reap from in the past seven years.

Since he came to office the Party always find it difficult to win elections even in places that the party has strong hold, it is on record that the state House of assembly used to be 100 percent PDP, the House of Representatives PDP, Senate 100 percent PDP but today the story is different.

He is not worried that in his ward and polling unit PDP has always being loosing; Niger North had PDP Senator but today the Niger north Senator is an All Progressive Congress APC member because of the selfish politics of the Chief servant that has exposed the party to the opposition.

The experiences during the last Niger East Bye-election has shown us in PDP that the Party may not win the state in 2015, all of us in PDP knows the tactics deployed to win the election, we all know that it was not because the party is popular under the watch of the Chief servant.

As the signal is clear to us, the last straw that will break the camel’s back is in the offing; the insistence of the Governor on his anointed candidate Alhaji Umaru Nasko to take the flag of the party’s Governorship ticket is a path to the total collapse of the party in the state.

The candidature of Nasko will expose the party to the opposition and live the electorates with the impression that we are taking them for granted, the question is why Umaru Nasko that the chief servant had publicly declared a thief over so many projects in the state?

The chief servant obviously has an ulterior motive to have somebody that he has a case against as Governor and in turn use that to secure him from being probed of the digital stealing and outright looting of the treasury through bonds and projects over inflated, where commissions are collected before the projects come to stream.

The Chief servant’s choice of Nasko is selfish, wicked and a total disservice to PDP in the state, it is like killing the party completely after putting the party and Niger state in coma over the past seven years.

Our Governor knows that Nasko will not be able to withstand the personality test, because of his past records; we all agreed it is not about age; Nasko has never being among the youths in Niger state that can serve as a model for others in the state.

The records of the scandals of Umar Nasko surrounding him within and outside Nigeria is an open book if read can cause further embarrassment to our great party that need revival and urgent image laundering.

How can the Governor want our Royal fathers, elder statesmen and well meaning Nigerlites to accept Nasko as Governor From what they know about his past attested to by the Governor himself? Governor Aliyu will only make the party members who are already fed up to work for the opposition with his recent move.

To add salt to injury the educational records of Nasko remain a confusion, he will write in his profile for the public a Master Degree without a First Degree and the next day he will put only School Certificate in his nomination form.

Independent investigation carried out on his academic credential as he presented in his curriculum vitae and in the profile of The Executive Council Members of Niger State, so much remains of the confusion. A response from the International Relations Office of the University of Lodz on the validity of his claims proved otherwise, as the officer that attended to the enquiry responded thus “Our digital database yields no results, which is because it lacks entries for people who graduated in the 90's. Therefore, I am going to contact the appropriate Faculty to perform the Archives search. I am afraid that it will be extremely difficult, if not impossible to find the person in question because of the lack of certain key information.”

After further contact the University responded as thus “ I have confirmed it with the UL School of Polish for Foreigners that Mr. Umar Mohammed Nasko has completed a preparatory course of the Polish Language in 1996. Let me explain this course gives training in the polish language for everyday life and academic purposes, but this does not count as a graduation at any level. The confirmation also states he was subsequently referred to study International Economic & Political Relations at the UL (but without specification whether at a Bachelor’s or Master’s level) and, for obvious reasons, with no note on completion or lack thereof meaning he did not enroll”. Same enquiry sent to Jagiellonian University where he claimed to obtain Masters Degree in Political Sciences a negative response was received.

This will expose the party to ridiculed and not to be taking seriously by the electorates, the party is heading for the rock and will certainly lose all elections in 2015 if urgent steps are not taken to prevent the Governor from imposing bad candidate on the party.

The Chief servant is not new to speaking from both side of his mouth when genuine stakeholders will ask him about his political moves he will say he has no anointed candidate and then come out to lead inconsequential groups to endorse Umar Nasko.

The Double speaking nature of the Governor is what has brought down the Fortune of the party to the level it is today and he is hell bent in making sure that he uses it to finally destroy the party, now even outside the state the position of Niger state was no longer taking seriously because the Chief servant who is suppose to be the leader of the party can not be relied on even by the members in the state.

He take position because his interest is protected and he is in a tight corner with no way out , the ever reliable PDP men and women in the state have  become subjects of doubt even at the national level because of the inconsistency of our chief servant, these and many reason may make PDP to lose elections in 2015 at all levels if party members fail to take urgent steps to confront the Chief servant not to subdue the will of the people.
