2015: Jonathan, Jittery, Goes Begging Yoruba Obas

November 28, 2014

Following his poor performance in office and his rejection by the people of the South-West, President Goodluck Jonathan has begun traveling to the zone to beg traditional rulers and eminent citizens to help save his presidency.

The trip started in earnest, with visit to the Ooni of Ife earlier today. President Jonathan jet out of Abuja yesterday for Lagos and Osun, where the President and his political advisers  plans to meet traditional rulers.

A source said that the 'appeal journey’ is aimed at wooing the leaders and begging them to speak with their subjects to help bail Jonathan out of the presidential defeat which awaits him and the Peoples Democratic Party.

It is unclear why Jonathan is focusing on Lagos and Osun, given that there are states in the zone where opposition to his rule appear to be even stronger.
