The bombing took place in the city's center at a Mr. Biggs roundabout on Ahmadu Bello Way. Our correspondent reports that causalities are expected to be high, as the high-traffic area is the location for many banks, which are heavily patronized during rush hour periods. There are also many car parks in the area.

"One would have said the causalities would be low, but since the ban on street hawking in Jos, [the area] gets crowded at night for late buying and selling," a source told SaharaReporters.

While officials have confirmed the attack, according to AFP, there has been no word on the causalities. The area is also less than two minutes by foot from the location of the previous Jos bombing in May.
