Nine More People Slaughtered In Borno

"Boko Haram insurgents slaughter nine people in our town last Wednesday, the insurgents set fire on public structure including the Divisional Police Headquarters in the town." Danlami Ibrahin said.

At least nine people have been slaughtered in the northeast Borno town of Shani during a dusk attack led by Boko Haram, a local hunter told SaharaReporters.

Shani town is located about 240 kilometers south of Maiduguri.

"Boko Haram insurgents slaughter nine people in our town last Wednesday, the insurgents set fire on public structure including the Divisional Police Headquarters in the town." Danlami Ibrahin said.

Shani, a local government headquarters, has not experienced the level of Boko Haram violence compared to other locations in Borno. Residents claimed there is no military presence in the area.
