Nigeria Decides: Bomb Blasts In Polling Station, Enugu State

According to police, the bomb was planted in a Honda Accord car near the WTC with registration number KUJ 971 LB.

Bomb explosions have been reported at the WTC Primary School in Enugu State, where 5 polling booths are located. The first explosion took place last night after which residents alerted police.

A bomb was safely detonated by the Anti-Bomb Police Unit around 7:30 am. Since then they have safely detonated at least three more bombs and are working to secure the safety of the site.

According to police, the first bomb was planted in a Honda Accord car near the WTC with registration number KUJ 971 LB.

It drew the attention of residents who alerted police to the scene when they noticed the Honda had been abandoned at the school lot. Police warned residents to stay away from the location until after a thorough investigation. They feared that more bombs could be located at the scene.

The Commissioner of Police, Dan Bature, who was at the scene has ensured that so far, no lives have been lost. Also, he said that the people behind the bomb blasts as well as their motives currently remain unknown.
