Announcing the final results, the returning officer, Professor Abdullahi Bagudo said the APC Gubernatorial Candidate, Honourable Aminu Tambuwal scored a total of 647,609 whiles the PDP candidate, Senator Abdallah Wali scored a total of 269,074. The total valid votes cast stand at 926, 682, while a total votes rejected stand at 32,054.

Meanwhile there is wild celebration across the state capital with long convoy of motorcade drumming and singing APC slogan. Most of the people interviewed express optimism that the incoming administration of Tambuwal will take Sokoto state to a greater height through various developmental projects.
