News reaching us says Coded Tunes is up and about, and under new management. A press briefing was done by them yesterday at the Fab Lounge, with hard questions being asked. We gathered that present were 9ice, 2Phat, Lord of Ajasa, and some members were absent due to an event exhaustion. In the upcoming event of CODED TUNES LIVE IN CONCERT slated for May 10, 2015 at Eko Hotel, we have been told it is going to be a story to tell of the various acts. It appears a broadway show is in the offing.

The new MD iBen (Benjamin Adeyanju) a filmmaker and business man from California is the magic spinner. At the interviews he gave clues that the new angle to Coded Tunes is powered by some societal individuals and it is covert ops.

Whatever this means, it appears Coded Tunes is churning up new discoveries that will spice up the industry some more. We remember how Olamide and 9ice were products of this label before they went to do their own thing. It becomes clear that the grandfather label is about to give birth to new wonders. Already the MD stated how grooming is ongoing for a whole lot of other artistes that weren't unveiled for this event. It would appear that Gaise Baba and Chineke Boy are the two who may have passed out of their training and preparatory modules for this event.

Unveiled at the event was Gaise Baba, an AfroFusion artiste who was reputed to have been a gospel artiste before. This comes as a surprise that he is now signed up under this label. Certainly something is brewing and we will soon find out. A taste of the music, and we did know something is indeed brewing. When quizzed about his conversion, he stated he hasn't converted from anything to anything. He genre has always been AfroFusion be it gospel or secular. He stated in emphatical terms though that platform may have changed, but his message remains the same. His lyrical wonders in the sampled song was quite a enjoyment, it was like drinking banana smoothie, which we were offered though. And oh yes, it was refreshing.

Equally unveiled was Chineke Boy, a new act altogether, and it appears he is going to have to hold his own, as his brand of indigenous Igbo rap will have Phyno to contend with. When asked how he would weather that storm, he responded he is Chineke Boy The Voice. Now whatever that means, he is clearly unafraid.

Chineke Boy didn't speak much, and he came across as a cool and no talking type, but this may well be expected for someone who is known as The Voice. We look forward to hear his voice, his message and see what impact he can make. He is still very much green. And we have seen what greens can do in this industry. They have the ability to surprise and appeal.

Highly noticeable at the event was the pervading sense of intelligence of Coded Tunes. It begs the question who is powering these label now. Whatever training they may have been undergoing codedly is looking like a huge payoff. Whoever these consultants are, we will get a feel of them more in the coming days.

9ice and IDCabasa gave insight into their relationship as having been always cordial and supportive even though rumours were all over the place, and they do have an idea who was peddling it, a friend of theirs who was also present, by name Odu Black. The entire Coded Tunes family laughed over the past mischiefs and they seem quite a jolly bunch to mix with. Somewhere along the line they went into the unending world of football, and that is another story for another day.
