"Ogun East is Not for Sale" - Dele Okenla

May 25, 2015

PRESS RELEASE:
I have been watching with keen interest the unfolding drama concerning the purported arrest and planned extradition of the Ogun East Senator-elect, Prince Buruji Kashamu. While I have no personal interest in the guilt or innocence of Mr Kashamu himself, I am nonetheless duly concerned that the Ogun East Senatorial mandate currently reposed in the person of Mr Kashamu may be the object of a planned hijack.
It is for this reason that I wish to issue the following caveat. The Ogun East senatorial mandate belongs to the people of Ogun East and any attempt by any individual, political party or group to snatch it through the backdoor will be met with stiff resistance. I do not hold brief for Prince Kashamu or PDP as I am a member of Labour Party and the candidate of Labour Party in the recently concluded Ogun East senatorial election and I therefore speak only to protect the people's mandate.
I will like to advise anyone who is not happy with the outcome of the election to either join themselves as parties to the ongoing proceedings at the election tribunal or simply wait for the outcome of any such matter before the tribunal. I am also waiting for the outcome of the matter pending before the election tribunal before deciding on what legal step to take. However, no matter what happens or does not happen, I will not fold my arms and watch the will of the people of Ogun East truncated without due process or due regard for the people. Thank you.

Dele Okenla Esq.
Labour Party, Ogun East.
