As Governor Henry Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State desperately tries to hold on to power, he has employed the services of prayer merchants and prophets to endorse him for his second term bid.

On Wednesday, leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Bayelsa State Chapter, visited the Government House in Yenagoa Local Government Area (LGA) and passed a vote of confidence for Governor Dickson, describing him as a God-fearing leader who means well for the people.

Speaking during an interactive session with the governor, the CAN State Chairman, Most Rev. Israel Ege, expressed satisfaction with the achievements of the governor in virtually every sector of the State’s economy, including building a new ecumenical center for Christians and massive infrastructural development.

However, Rev. Israel Ege appealed to the Governor Dickson to allocate land to his members to build to build churches and sponsor pilgrimages in Israel, which he pointed out, has been pending for the past two years.

In his remarks, Governor Dickson attributed the successes to the decision he took at the inception of the administration to lay the foundation of the government on Christ. He explained that the numerous infrastructural developments and the relative peace could not have been possible without God’s divine interference.

He thanked Christian leaders in the State for their genuine support and prayers, particularly for joining the government in its daily morning devotions and the monthly praise nights at the Government House in Yenagoa.
