New Taliban Leader Confirms The Death Of Notorious Terrorist Mullah Omar

According to analysts, it is possible that his death was concealed in order to maintain cohesion within the Taliban’s leadership and to prevent fragmentation.

Sources in the Taliban in Afghanistan have confirmed that their leader, Mullah Mohammed Omar, has died. This news was announced at a Shura Council meeting at the same time that Mullah Akhtar Mansoor was declared the new commander of the Afghan Taliban.

Afghan intelligence services have said that Mullah Omar died more than two years ago in a hospital in Karachi, Pakistan.

The administration of Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has been eagerly pursuing peace, which they say will be bolstered with the news of Mullah Omar’s death.

Mullah Omar is said to have provided a source of unity for ground fighters and Taliban leadership in Afghanistan.
