A family source, who confirmed the news to SaharaReporters in a terse message, said family members were shocked by the incident.
"Baba has been kidnapped" the family member said a phone message.
A police source in Akure also confirmed the abduction to our correspondent.
The Afenifere leader was last seen at a public function during the remembrance of the late Gani Fawehinme held at Adegbemile Cultural Centre in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
