NDLEA Successfully Arrest Alleged Drug Baron, Seize 576 kgs Of Narcotics

On Sunday, Mitchell Ofoyeju, Head, Public Affairs, NDLEA announced the arrest of Tochukwu Ubah, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN). Mr. Ubah is a suspected drug baron, and was allegedly organizing the importation of methamphetamine and ephedrine into the country.

On Sunday, Mitchell Ofoyeju, the Head of Public Affairs for the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), announced the arrest of Tochukwu Ubah, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

Mr. Ubah is a suspected drug baron, and was allegedly organizing the importation of methamphetamine and ephedrine into the country.  

Mr. Ubah was arrested by a Special Enforcement Team (SET) at the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos.  The NDLEA claimed that the suspect attempted to smuggle 576 kgs of narcotics via shipments of noodles and cereal at Apapa Port.  

In their press statement, the NDLEA revealed that Mr. Ubah was the subject of an “intense investigation” for his drug smuggling activities.

It was also revealed that Mr. Ubah used his company Visoch Resources Limited, as a front for his drug smuggling operations.  The chairman of the NDLEA praised the efforts of the investigation team.

“The arrest of Tochukwu is a product of painstaking surveillance and another milestone success in the fight against drugs. This seizure is a confirmation that criminal investments will always go down the drain.”
