When added to the result of the previous election, the APC total number of votes is 247,752 while that of the PDP is 204,877. The replacement candidate for the APC, Yahaya Bello has won the election earlier declared inconclusive by INEC.

Total valid votes for the election was 472, 983, the number of rejected votes was 21,740 while the total number of votes cast was 494,723.

The APC had to substitute its candidate in the election as its original candidate, Abubakar Audu,  died suddenly on the day of collation of the initial election. The party decided to present the  runner up in the primary that produced Mr. Audu. Mr. Audu's deputy, James Faleke, has gone to court to contest the party's position.
