Prophecies have ranged from claims that 89-year-old Queen Elizabeth may be on her last legs (Joshua Iginla); There will be food scarcity (JB Joshua); and from E.A Adeboye, “there will be a new sexually transmitted infection”.

In the video titled The False Prophecy of E.A Adeboye, Eca Eps a former Christian, refutes the divinity of the prophesy by responding to each of the claims made by the reverend. Eps recalls her own days at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, lamenting over the numerous New Year Eves she spent with her family at ‘watchnight’ or ‘crossover’ services.

The claims made by Pastor Adeboye include:

Some families will trace the beginning of their generational blessings to this year
Grateful hearts will have more causes to be grateful
The pendulum of life is generally on an upward swing
Things are likely to get tougher before they get better but things will surely get better before the end of the year
What God started last year, he will finish this year, provided we don’t rejoice too soon
Floods, fires and earthquakes will get progressively worse until governments overturn their unholy laws
God will win the fight against terrorism
There will be a new sexually transmitted infection
Private and confidential prophesies not yet revealed
There will be blessings so large that they will be difficult to contain
