There is a heavy gun battle in the remote village of Bita in Gwoza Local Government Area (LGA) of Borno State, according to residents speaking with SaharaReporters.
According to residents, Boko Haram terrorists attacked the remote community at about 11:30pm on Monday night, which went on for about nine hours.
It was gathered that the terrorists attempted to overrun a military installation in Bita, but have been repelled by soldiers.
Military sources speaking with SaharaReporters disclosed that soldiers have pushed the terrorists back. He added, “we are on top of the situation.”
