SaharaReporters has learned that at least four people were killed during the latest Boko Haram raid in the remote village of Tumpun near Lassa in Askira Uba Local Government Area (LGA).
The raid began at 8am Saturday morning when Boko Haram terrorists stormed the area and started carting away foodstuffs.
A Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF) member in the Mussa District confirmed these details to a SaharaReporters correspondent.
He said, “Boko Haram opened fire on villagers who recently returned to the village. We evacuated four dead bodies this morning but some [residents] are still missing as I am speaking to you.”
The Civilian JTF member added, “but the military has responded on time and are in hot pursuit of [the terrorists].”
This same source told our correspondent that Boko Haram disguised themselves as Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) returning to the area in order to carry out the attack.
