Man Suspected Of Slitting Wife's Throat Dies

Mr. Jafaru Sougie, who was recently arrested  by the police on the suspicion that he murdered his wife by slitting her throat in the
Oshodi area of Lagos, has died.

Jafaru, who died on Friday morning, was being treated at a police hospital in Ikoyi, where he was taken, following a loss of consciousness immediately after the suspected murder of his wife, Rosaline, at their home in Oshodi.

A police disclosed to SaharaReporters that Jafaru suffered a drastic weight loss since his arrest. He was said to have been unable to eat only snacks and drank Coca Cola. He was suspected to have ingested a poisonous substance after allegedly killing his wife. This was thought to have made him unconscious.

The police source said Jafaru began regaining consciousness after days of receiving treatment from team of medical experts, who included psychiatrists and psychologists. The deceased are survived by five children.
