In a statement issued by the chairman of the PDP in Bayelsa State, Deacon Cleopas Moses, the chairman cited the lack of Bayelsans on the recent list of ambassadorial nominees sent to the Senate.
The Bayelsa State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed dismay at the continuous unpleasant attitude of the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government, accusing it of sidelining the State in federal appointments.
The party also frowned at the way and manner in which the federal government has been managing the nation's economy, which it noted is responsible for the inability of many States to pay their workers' their salaries and meet other financial obligations.
In a statement issued by the chairman of the PDP in Bayelsa State, Deacon Cleopas Moses, the chairman cited the lack of Bayelsans on the recent list of ambassadorial nominees sent to the Senate. He claimed that this snub was a clear indication of the personal grudge the APC-led federal government has for the State.
Mr. Moses queried the action and reasoning behind the decision, wondering if Bayelsa State does not have any career diplomats eligible to become an ambassador. He further blasted the once “noisy” Bayelsa State APC for partly being responsible for the development because of the pain of losing woefully the last governorship election.
He recalled that Governor Seriake Dickson had raised similar issues recently when he received the Head of Service of the Federation, when he decried the absence of a Bayelsan as Permanent Secretary in the Federal Civil Service.
The Bayelsa State PDP chairman called on the State APC to immediately apologize to Bayelsans for its role in the lopsidedness, adding that its self-serving agenda which was used to embarrass former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has also landed the party and its leader, Chief Timipre Sylva, in uncertainty as they can now only boast of a junior minister.
