The Bayelsa State Police Command has arrested Timidou Jephther, 20 years old, from the Akedei Community in Sagbama Local Government Area (LGA), who is accused of sexually assaulting a five-year-old girl to death.
The victim, identified by police as Queen Kaiser, was confirmed at the Federal Medical Centre in the State capital Yenagoa.
According to the spokesman for the Bayelsa State Police, Asinim Butswat, "The suspect was arrested on the 9th August, 2016."
He added that, "the corpse of Queen Kaiser has been deposited at the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa, for autopsy. The suspect is detained at the State Criminal Investigations and Intelligence Department SCIID, Yenagoa. The investigation is ongoing".
