September 6, 2016

The president and his VP, along with All Progressives Congress (APC) governors, will lead a rally supporting the APC at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, according to Edo State APC Chairman Anselm Ojezua.

President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo arrived in Edo State on Tuesday ahead of Saturday’s gubernatorial election.

The president and his VP, along with All Progressives Congress (APC) governors, will lead a rally supporting the APC at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, according to Edo State APC Chairman Anselm Ojezua.

Mr. Ojezua added that the National Campaign Council for the election headed by Lagos State Governor Akinwumi Ambode was also present for the rally.

The chairman explained that the event was carefully coordinated and that he expected it to go as planned.

“All logistics to ensure free movement of the visitors and party supporters across the State have also been perfected. Anytime the APC is holding a rally, there is always mass mobilization,” Mr. Ojezua said.

“Once the people know that the president is coming this time around, our people would be so excited to receive him,” he added, calling on the people of Edo State to come out to welcome Mr. Buhari.

Voters will flock to the polls on Saturday, September 10, to choose the next Edo State governor. Godwin Obaseki will represent the APC while Osagie Ize-Iyamu will run on the Peoples Democratic Party ticket.
