Body Of Senior Advocates Of Nigeria Backs NBA Position On Corrupt Judges

The body of Senior Advocates of Nigeria at a meeting held in the Nigerian Law School in Lagos has resolved to back the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).

The body decided at it meeting that the NBA position to the National Judicial Council requesting that Nigerian judges arrested last week for corruption by the Department of State Security stop presiding over cases until their issues are resolved.

In making the resolution, the body also stated that it cannot pretend that all is well with the administration of justice in Nigeria and therefore mandated its leadership to send a delegation to the Chief Justice of Nigeria to prevail on the NJC to join in with President Muhammad Buhari administration to clean up the mess in the Nigerian judiciary.

Professor Alfred Bandele Kasunmu (SAN), who is regarded as the most senior of all Nigerian SANs presided over the well-attended meeting which also had in attendance the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN).
