After shutting down for runway renovations for six weeks, the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja officially reopened on Tuesday.

The first flight to land in the newly renovated airport was a test flight, carrying the Minister of State for Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika, in a private jet from Kaduna airport. It landed on the repaired runway at 11:05 a.m.

The first international flight, an Ethiopian Airline A350 jet, touched down at 12:07 p.m.
